Hi', G,Taylor,
What you want to do, can be done its as simple as that
but you could have a problem, remember the rads
are 90 years old and have been in use all that time
so you may have a build up of rust inside, and it could
be the rust thats stopping the leaks now,
so take care if/when you do any thing to the rads.
