Possibilities Posted by homebild on June 7th, 2003 08:45 AM In reply to wall recepticles by Eric Shertzer on June 7th, 2003 08:21 AM [Go to top of thread]
Several possibilities include:
1) The receptacles are controlled by a GFCI breaker. Often, GFCI breakers control other outlets than its own. Make sure all GFCI circuit breakers (located on receptacles in baths, garages, basements, kitchens, or outdoors or with GFCI circuit breakers in the panel box) are reset and working properly.
2) Loose 'upstream' wiring connection. You can have a loose wiring connection upstream from these dead circuits that is preventing power from getting to them. Finding the loose connection can be by trial and error and be a bit tedious. It could be in any junction box that serves the dead outlets and could be found in light switches, ceiling boxes, other outlets, or any junction box. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
