alternatives. But as LJ stated, this seems the best. I would think ahead and have a couple of boards only screwed down so that you can go under there and do any vent pipe clean out or maintance. I would try to figure out a way to keep varmits from seeking the warmth and shelter of that vent pipe also. I would lay the end on crushed rocks so that water will not ease up into the pipe also.
