driven well

Posted by mike ausposs on June 9th, 2003 08:27 AM

I suspect my 1-1/2" well point is clogged. The point is at 36 feet with 16 feet of water in the pipe. I want to replace the point and am thinking that if I go to a 2" pipe/point and replace my 1/2HP pump with a 3/4 or l HP pump I would get better volume and pressure of water flow. Is this true? Right now it takes about four minutes to fill a five gallon pail and if I have the garden hose on and the wife runs the washing machine, I lose my prime. Anybody have any comments? Thanks.
