Vinyl Siding

Posted by Bob on June 10th, 2003 07:11 AM

I am installing vinyl siding on a shed that I built. The gable roof faces forwards and the soffits are on the sides. I did the front first and it came out perfect. I am now working one of the sides. I have sided from the bottom up to the last piece. The siding lines up well, side to front. The last piece on the side that goes against the vinyl soffit wants to be a full piece less the nailer. I can put a J channel on the side against the soffit F channel and slip the top lock into the channel, but I have no way to nail the last piece in place. The rolled locking edge will not allow me to use sill trim and punch tabs. Could not have ended in a more difficult position. My question is how do I secure the top piece in place? I can use a few white nails through the siding, but what about puckering. If I use NO nails, what will keep it from slipping out? HELP!
