Add a piece filler.

Greetings Bob,

This is a common mistake.

What I would do is add a piece of filler at the top to bring down the measurment.

Are you covering the trim with aluminum?

It might be as simple as adding a 1 X 3 under the top and covering it. Then add the J channel and the sill trim inside the J.(you might have to add lath under the sill to bring it out, to look right.) Cut the siding and using a crimp tool, crimp the siding before inserting it into the sill trim.

Make sure you measure down on the other side and start at the same place. You will have to lay it out the same way to have it look right.
