It sounds like your Garage door opener's receiver might be at fault. Take your controllers to the nearist Sears store and ask them to test it with there in store display units. I'm sure they won't mind. If they function OK there. You probably need a new receiver board in your garage door opener. Then call Sears parts and service number.
