We have a cat that decided he needs to poop outside the litter box all the time. We put a rubber mat down, but he goes just off the edge of it, on the carpeting! Thankfully he doesn't pee outside the box, just poop. I've been trying to spot clean the area, without any luck. Any suggestions, short of renting a steam cleaner? The area he goes is only a patch maybe 2x2.
