Robert...we just did this exact same thing in our kitchen, bath, and hallway. We wound up scraping up the glue residue as well as the bottom layer of the tile with a scraper that had a long razor blade as an edge. Took a while and lots of energy, but it finally came up. We would have left it there, but the tilesetters said it wouldn't be level and the tile wouldn't set right if we did. Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
