I didn't mean to scare anyone but the 'idea' I described is what first came to mind.

I guess if it was me, I'd cut the apron as Henry describes, and go one step further, and put 'something' in it to hold/divert the water. Then, I'd cover it with a grate/screen so I could drive over it w/o chipping the lip of the channel. The way the original post read to me, there was a lot of water and just 'cutting' the apron a few times wasn't enough. If I was describing a much bigger project, sorry 'bout that. In both my and Henry's suggestion, the apron has to be cut. (Unless I'm not reading the post(s) right.) ;-) Oh well, ...
