Rotation of Ceiling Fan, Clockwise - Counter Clockwise

Which direction is clockwise? I see it a different way than someone else I know and we have a debate on this subject. I see clockwise as the fan going in the direction the face of a clock would go, blowing air down as a typical fan function. And counter clockwise going the reverse. Please help me with this and tell me the correct summer and winter directions for ceiling fans.
