Carla,
We specialize in the fabrication of concrete countertops. We also have Granite, Marble, Stainless Steel, Copper and Zinc. In regards to your question, by the very nature of concrete in most cases you will have variation of color throughout. Some areas darker some lighter this is what makes concrete so appealing. Some customers who come to us want stark contrasts in color to show a marble look. We achieve this in a very complicated way by mixing similiar or not so similar colors of dye in varying ratios. The end result can be something quite dramatic. To achieve a rope profile one would have to custom fabricate a mold and place it in a form. This can be quite difficult but in can be done. We do not cast our countertops in place. We form them in a fabrication shop "off sight" and we achieve a product that is quite durable, beautiful and unique. Hope this answers some of your questions. We will have a website up and running shortly on which you can see some of our work. www.customstoneinteriors.net
