Hi, I have a really really good existing formica counter. It is really ugly bright orange from the sixties. My question is at some point in time I accidently dropped a drip of something that ate right through the finish and just about whitened the orange to almost a almond color. I was wondering if anyone out there would krow what did that because I would love to apply it to the entire counter and basically wash off that bright orange, reduce it to a pale peach or almond and they apply a good hard finish as that seems as if it would be a fairly simple task... any ideas... please email me. I tried a drop of paint remover today also some acidtone with no luck. I wonder if merimadic acid.. sorry for the spelling would be the answer.
