Paint on Crown Moulding

We just bought a house built in 1926. It has beautiful 5" old growth fir crown all the way around the living room with a dark stain. The previous owners painted the walls and got paint on the moulding. Is there an easier way to get the paint off than sanding and restaining the whole thing? Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
