Economical way to increase roof height/pitch?

Hello,
We are buying a 100 year old house with a large extension built on the back of the original house. The extension has a separate roof that is lower than that of the existing house. The extension houses the kitchen, bathroom, and storage downstairs. Upstairs it has an attic and connects to the master bedroom through a little door. It's perfectly situated with realtion to plumbing to put a second (half) bathroom in the space. Problem: at it's tallest, the roof is about 6'1". My husbandis 6'2", so we need just a few more inches to be able to use the space for a bathroom. Is there an economical way to do this? Any suggestions? Thanks!
