I am wondering how you know your cabinets are laminate? I have black cabinets (with a natural wood trim) that are a smooth and have rounded edges; they have almost plastic or fiberglass appearance. The house appears to have been built with quality materials throughout in 1984. Unfortunately, the cabinets are black and I'd like to resurface with another color. Any idea what they are made of (and tips on resurfacing)? THANKS FOR ANY IDEAS!
