you know, on what I call spec houses, this happens all the time and no one knows, the rock goes up and who will ever know, but homes custom built or watched by the owner come under scrutiny that some builders hate. If it were my home, I would demand all insulation that has been contaminated to be replaced, EVEN if it were out of my pocket. you know the phrase, pay me now or pay me later, well, here too.

First, insulation will cause growth of some sort, second the properties have become compromised too.

This is what I would do in your case.
