We are renovating an older home with shiplap walls. The original finish had been wallpaper installed over muslin directly over the shiplap. We cannot find anyone in our area (Southeast Texas)who installs wallpaper over muslin. We need a thin stable sheathing to install over the shiplap so as not to lose too much of the reveal around the windows. We plan to wallpaper directly to whatever sheathing we select. We are weighing the following options:
1/4" drywall
1/4" luan
panelling installed with the underside out
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
