Chuck, dryer vents are one of the most common causes of fires. The lint from the dryer collects in the pipe or hose and a spark from the burner, or just too much heat build up, or several other things can start the lint to smoldering. I just say this to let you know of the one problem to be most watchful for. I used the plastic hose for years but have solid metal now.
That said, you want to figure how you are going to be able to get the pipe to the outside of the house. They make replacement panels for basement windows that are pretty easy and convenient to use if you can locate your dryer close to a window. The shortest run of pipe with the least amount of bends in the pipe is best.
Beyond that, it gets pretty tough to tell you how to do it since I can't see your set-up. I suggest that you plan out in your mind or on a paper sketch of the area and where the pipe is to run and take that to your home center or hardware store. You will want some rough dimensions to know how much pipe or hose, fittings, and exit stragety for the pipe to get the end out of the house. They should have everything you need to go from there. You will want a baffle outside your house to keep "critters" outside but let the heat out and these are available also. Be safe and be sure that the products you use and the way you install them are the safest possible.
