Application of vinyl siding

We are installing Alside siding(Akron,OH co.), their premium siding.We have cedar siding which is cracking and some bds pulling away and curving. installers are disagreeing. So do we have them screw down the bds, apply core bd., and then install the siding, or do we have them remove all the old siding and the vinyl side? If they remove all the orig.siding what should be applied before applying the vinyl. We think there is only black bd. underneath. The house was built in1976. Thanks, KB Was this post helpful?
