We noticed a crack in a lower portion of a glu-lam beam which stretches across an approximate 24 foot span located in the middle of the ceiling of the lower level family room. This beam supports the east exterior second floor back wall and roof. Attached to this beam are trusses which support the east side lower level ceiling and second level floor, three 15'X 15' bedrooms, hallway, hallway closet and a bathroom. It appeared to be "fixed" with two lag bolts to stop the to minimize any further elongation of the already 18" crack. Is this sufficient?
