Lvanna, When you pulled up your carpet, was the carpet nailed into the floor?

I want to do the same thing (pull carpet and stain) however, I have nails all over under my carpet -and I am concerned about the whole they will leave -and also think that if I try to fill in the wholes -I'm thinking that the cement absorption properties will make it so the repairs will be very obvious.

I could (I suppose) use the industrial sander grinding in new cement...

Or I suppose I could use a product that is more like a layer of cement on top of my layer...

Can you tell me about nail removal (without taking out huge chunks of cement -or thoughts on what to do?
Thanks!
Tracy
