sound proofing/insulation between walls

Posted by V. L. Willett on June 28th, 2003 07:05 AM

We added a second bathroom which butts up to our old one and now we have a problem because you can hear very plainly from one bathroom what is going on in the other bathroom. We are going to be redoing the old bathroom soon and we were wondering what is the best 'soundproofing' we could use. It does not have to be completely sound proof but it would be nice to know hear everything that is going on. I don't think regular insulation will be much help but can't find any other ideas. We will be completly gutting the old bathroom so will be down to the studs and that will be the time to fix it, that is if we knew what to use. Please help, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
