Bubbles in whirlpool Posted by Robert Goodman on June 29th, 2003 08:04 AM In reply to Bubbles by Daniel T Leeds on April 26th, 2003 07:31 AM [Go to top of thread]
Depends a lot on the design of the tub, and a little on the type of foaming agent. I posted instructions for using my mixture with the Vita Bath tub at http://users.bestweb.net/~robgood/suds/instruct.htm . The Vita Bath has the air intake on the inside of the tub and my mixture (now sold as MarshWallow Painless Lather Bath) makes a heavy foam, so no runaway foaming is possible with it. One the foam gets to the height of the air intake, it's just sucked in and recycled. A whirlpool (or blower spa) with air intake outside the tub, like the Water Tech, can give runaway foaming if left on long enough. Even with an air intake inside the tub, a bubble bath that makes a light, dry, fluffy foam can have the bubles pile up a considerable height above the air intake; however, foam of that type doesn't overflow easily so it may not be a bother anyway.
