Hi, Lynn. I'm afraid that you will have to paint. I would apply a coat of Zinsser B-I-N or equal and then a coat of paint. With the textured ceiling, you will want to use a roller with a long nap. Be sure to tape up light plastic to cover the walls and floor so you don't get any paint on them.
