Plaster has a hard brittle coating and a softer undercoat, using a screwdriver and screw, start buy turning the screw backwards a few turns and then with another screwdriver or pliers or something similar tap it a few times lightly then turn backwards a few more times ,tap,backwards,tap,backwards... you will feel the screw break through the hard layer and then you can screw normally into the soft layer.
