I am also searching for the answer, the tiles that I have seen that are suppose to be the best in the industry consist of Quartz crystals ground into chips with a mixture of 7%polymer resin and a color pigment. this is supposed to be three times harder than slate or marble and stain, fuel,and brakefluid resistant. Welding will leave puck markes on the serface it is repairable with a resin polymier mix. Griot's Garage catolog # 165 has the tile at $ 59.95 per 2'X 2' tile a bit much for a floor the 1' X 1' is $14.95 each.
