vapor barrier

If you think you might add a heating system in the future, use a vapor barrier, otherwise, none is needed. Any common wall for the house and garage must be fireproof rated drywall.

Remember insulation works both ways. You will be holding in cold temperatures without a heat system. A small heating system could make the garage habitable when you want to work there.
