Water line too Posted by plumber Tom on June 30th, 2003 12:22 PM | Watch this Topic In reply to Moving a Toilet? by Rick on June 30th, 2003 09:12 AM [Go to top of thread]
Your going to have to move the water supply as well, and the plumber will factor that labor into the job too. Is there a basement you can go to see any exposed piping. I'm thinking slab floor now, just because of the way it was installed, between the floor joists. If the stack is close by, it just means cutting out some fittings, and repiping it, But remember, if the floor is a slab, then it's going to have to still be raised. Now you are adding a carpenter to the project, unless of course your handy , and can rip out the old, and tell your plumber you will be "reboxing" in the pipes. Also take into consideration how far the toilet will be located from the stack. Most plumbing codes do not permit fixtures more then 12 feet from a vented line. Any distance that exceeds this 12 feet is considered "overrun". Alot of people make modifications without compliance to codes.
