Shingles and roof vents

We had our roof replaced (including some plywood) about 3 years ago. Plywood cost was over and above estimate. Labor was included. Put on GAF Timberline 30year + ridge vent. The ridge vent was like a very thick furnace filter that nailed over an opening at the ridge. Shingles were nailed over the vent. Very effective installation and no problems as yet. Does well in South Florida.
