footprint in bottom of pool

Neighbors of ours recently replaced their old pool with a new one. A few of the neighbor kids were there and went in and now the neighbor is claiming that one of the kids foorprint is in the bottom of the pool. Could this have possibly happened from going into the pool after it has been setting for days with water? Now they say that the water needs to be removed as well as the liner and the footprint leveled out- then replace the liner and fill the pool again. I feel the contractor or whomever didn't properly set the pool and that it wasn't the kids fault. Can you please explain if it is possible for a 130 lb kid to leave a footprint in a filled pool or was it possibly the footprint of the contractor who never filled in the print? I have no idea how much of an expense this would be but they are telling me it is the kids footprint and want them to pay to have the pool reset?
