drywall painting

Posted by tbryant on July 2nd, 2003 01:23 PM

In the process of repainting a bathroom, Stripping old wallpaper and using a 'glue remover/stripper.'
Spots were stripped previously and painted over by the previous owner and glue has a meshed/raised texture to it, which had to be dealt with.

Bottom line, in some locations,I have had to use a putty knife to get some of the glue/paint combination off and have removed a thin layer of the paper from the drywall.

Will a coat or two of good primer seal the drywall sufficiently. Or is there something else I would need to do prior to painting??
