Hi, again, Anna. I haven't used the 3M but it is supposed to be slower than Citristrip. You might try a hobby (Exacto) knife or dental picks and gently flick the paint out of the deep carving areas.

What kind of wood do you have and what do you want it to look like when you have completed it? You might want to look at a whole series of post with Catherine in St. Pete at www.Citristrip.com, then Ask the Experts. No, I don't work for them, but I do post regularly on their board. That might answer a lot of your questions.
