you need a 220volt feed from the breaker box

which means that you need a new breaker with double poles/handles sometimes ganged together with a metal latch or most times a single solid handle but the breaker is double the heigth of a regular single pole breaker used for 1110/120volt circuits. the 220 volt breaker actually feeds two separate 110 volt lines to the outleto off two separate buses coming from the power company.
you will need a 3wire with separate ground wire cable run from the new breaker to the new outlet.
