I have a large area of kitchen cabinets and they are pine with clear fanish over them. Do I have to strip the varnish off them or can I paint over them. I am painting them with melamine paint. The cupboards are 10 years old and need something done with them. Any help would be appreciated and any time saving tips would be a great help. I did have an old cupboard in my laundry room that was varnished and I just painted over it with melamine and it looks great. The melamine has not peeled or come off after one and a half years.
