slab foundation cracked

I am having a new house built and they have just
finished putting up the dry wall. I have noticed that
the slab foundation has cracked. These cracks are in
every room in the house, some of which are 1/8 inch in width. How serious is this, what causes it and what does the builder need to do to correct the problem.
