The standard for a tub sorround is to have all of the walls moisture proof. Meaning, all three walls having backerboard. This is acheived by tearing out the drywall, and replacing it with backerboard. (same thickness as your drywall for a smoother effect)The drywall is taped at all corners with a mesh tape. And floated with thinset. Then your tile can begin. As far as the outside corners, Typically the bullnose tiles with just go up to the corner. Not around it.
