i have backerboard in all areas of the surround that will be recieving tile. at the top of the surround, up to the ceiling, there will be greenrock. at this backerboard/greenrock seam do i use mud and tape or thinset and tape. if thinset is required, then i imagine that the tile should go partially over the seam as to cover the thinset. otherwise, the thinset will be visible even after painting. am i correct??
