The flames are yellow because the burners are starved for oxygen. The tubes leading from the gas control knob to the burner include an adjustable air inlet. Be sure those are clean and free of cobwebs. After cleaning, make adjustments in the air opening while observing the flame. Try to achieve a blue flame with minimal yellow color. The orifice is usually adjusted by loosening a small set screw and rotating a collar around the tube that opens and closes the air inlet.
