In reply to Water leak at the sill plate by Bruce M on June 27th, 1998 07:06 AM [Go to top of thread]

Last Week discovered a leak in the sill plate in my garage, and was able to locate( at least one of the locations) the leak by reproducing with a water hole at different locations on the outside wall.
How does one repair a ground level leak ? Is there an instruction manual someplace ?

I was told to excavate the ground down below the sill plate outside of the house, utilize foundation sealer and 4 to 6mm ( plastic?) , corragated tubing as a drainage. Is this correct?

Will also check the brick facade and top plates
