I am considering laying ceramic tile over old existing ceramic tile.I have about 1500 sg ft of existing ceramic tile in the kitchen, game room, and family room, and would like to replace the tile. However, I'm not looking forward to the work and the mess of chipping up the existing tile. There is one crack running in the existing tile of about 6 feet. There is no width to the crack, but it indicates movement in the concrete slab. Can I successfully tile over the existing 10"x10" tile with some new 18"x18" tile?
