Purchased home 3 years ago. Former owner was clean, elderly & house was vacant for a year. I replaced everything but the the carpeting which I cleaned as well as the whole house. House odor becomes present only after the air conditioner runs continuously for 2 days for more. Furnace heat does not bring the odor on. It's hard to describe. It's old & stale, not musty, but very strong, unpleasant & embarrassing. Any idea what this is and what is causing it?
