These instructions aren't bad. As tom says, it's not hard - but it's also not something you want to do wrong.
Also, in the link where the author removes the cap:
("I removed the cap with a pipe wrench.") .. always use two wrenches - he might have been loosening a connecton in the basement without knowing it because he didn't hold the pipe secure.
.. I would still recommend that you have someone who's done this before work with you.
