a while for the caulk to cure completely. the key is that the surface of the caulk has cured first and is preventing water from getting into the crack. it may take months for the caulk bead to get much firmer, but dont worry. The whole space should be caulked. hopefully you used a good quality silicon based caulk. good luck LJ
