pup chewing up hockey gear!!!!!

I have a 7 month old chocolate lab mix, and she has a thing for my boyfriends hockey gear/equipment. We've tried moving it, and she still finds a way to get into it and rip it to shreds....This stuff isn't cheap........ also why any dog would want to get into his smelly sweaty hockey gearis just nasty, hahah it just smells rancid from sweat.

She seems to only do this while we are gone, we're pretty sure she's bored..... We have another 3 year old chocolate lab, that is so well
behaved.

What is your suggestion for her getting into things and chewing them????

I discipline her as soon as I find gear around the yard or in the garage, but I don't know that this is going to work. I feel that I need
to catch her in the act and discipline her at that time, so she knows why she's in trouble.


I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.
