Fiberglass Shower, can it be saved? Posted by Tamara on October 8th, 1999 12:29 AM

I have a 20 year old fiberglass shower stall. The floor has become flexible causing leakage around the drain flashing. Is there anyway to add support under the floor or do I have to replace the whole shower? If I do have to replace it, I am confused about what size will fit. The front opening measures 46 1/2 inches to 47 inches depending on where I measure up and down the wall. Can I put a 48" remodel unit in or not. Does the drywall take up some of the measurement? Also my bathroom door opening is only 31 inches. Is it better to use a cultured marble, tile with fiberglass pan, or a whole fiberglass unit? Help, I have so many questions.
