Green mold

Hi,
I live a southern calif (Los Angeles) and my home is sitting a cement slab.

Halfway around the home I have planters,and at the bottom of the cement slab theres green mold growing.

1)Can it be health threating.
2)Can it cause damage to the home.
3)Can I cure the problem myself.

Please advise on a solution to treat this problem.
