Anybody can stucco. All you have to know is how install flashings correctly, how to install the water resistant paper underlayment properly, how to install the lath or woven wire properly including how much and where to nail it and how to lap it correctly, how to mix the scratch and brown coats. Spreading it it the easy part. Then you need to know how to straighten it and float it, then how to mix the finish properly and apply it in the desired texture. This is the easiest of all.
There must be some sites that tell you all of this in step by step fashion. It only took most of us who do it about ten years to get really good at it.
How much is your time worth? Can you make more working than you can save doing it yourself? How hard do you want to work?
If you can butter bread you can stucco. Can you butter the bread when the slice is standing on edge? Can you butter the bottom side?
Maybe you live in an area where there are no plasterers. If that is the case try it yourself. Otherwise call a plasterer.
I give advice freely here and elsewhere. I have told a lot of people how to patch or otherwise repair plaster and stucco. My advice to someone wanting to do a whole house himself is don't but if you must then work for a plasterer for a month and have him tell you and show you all you need to know.
That plasterer won't sound quite as expensive once you try it yourself. My advice is worth what it cost you.
