Your post was quite a while ago and you may have solved this already.
That fan has a lifetime warranty. Ours had the chain fall out so we could not use it at all. We broght the whole fan back to Home Depot and got a new fan to replace it for free.
The new warranty has a phone number 1-877-898-1881 and that may help you.
