I like tile, but not in a bedroom. Remember that tile is somewhat noisy to walk on with hard soled shoes. You may also prefer the softer sound in a living room.
For extending the tile you have, IMHO it would look patchy if you used a different tile; it should all be the same if it is contiguous.
